After-School Sewing Lessons
Offer sewing in your school with after-school or in-school sewing lessons.
During the school year sewing programs are available for students to learn how to sew as they design and create different projects. The programs engage students in a fun and constructive manner, and build upon skills related to problem solving, math, and engineering, while also demonstrating new ways to express their creativity. The knowledge gained will enable students to explore an endless array of possibilities to directly apply their new sewing skills.
Sewing programs cover a wide range of projects, experience levels, and time frames so there's something for everyone. In beginner programs students will first learn how to operate a sewing machine and basic sewing techniques. For students who already know how to sew we work on refining their skills with more complex projects and opportunities to design their own projects.
The types of sewing projects include design, fashion, accessories, and decor, as well as specific techniques that can be applied to any project.
Curriculum can be coordinated with teachers, administrators, and other instructors to integrate projects and learnings from other courses.
Multiple programs can take place simultaneously to provide flexible options based on age ranges, skill levels, and projects. Programs, drop-in enrichment sessions and demonstrations during classroom hours can also be arranged.
Materials & Supplies
Projects not only utilize commercial patterns and fabrics but also include options for custom and student-designed materials that that can integrate student art, school branding, and more.
For online lessons students must have their own sewing machine and basic sewing tools as well as additional materials and supplies that may be needed for specfic projects. I will provide a list of materials needed for each project, and I also have links and recommendations to sewing machines and tools.
Programs are customized to meet the needs of students and the organization, and prices vary based on the program details.
