Cleaning, tune-ups, maintenance and repairs for domestic sewing machines and sergers

All sewing machines need a little lovin' from time to time. Just like your vehicle, you need to take care of your sewing machine, so your machine will take care of you! The older your sewing machine, the more important taking care of it becomes.

Why Use Ronkita Design

It's a good idea to have your sewing machine serviced by a professional on an annual basis or sometimes more often if you use your machine for production work to help ensure a long life for your machine.
  • Scheduled appointments over video chat to review your machine in detail
  • Often problems are resolved during the diagnostic appointment
  • Fast turn time - most machines that need servicing are returned in 7-14 days

How It Works

Get your sewing machine serviced quickly in 3 easy steps:
1) Schedule Appointment

Schedule a virtual appointment over video chat

A non-refundable fee is required to schedule the appointment to review a problem you're experiencing or to drop your sewing machine off for a full-service cleaning. Walk-ins are not available.

2) Virtual Diagnostic

During your appointment I'll review the problem you're experiencing or the service you want performed.

Up to 1 hour to troubleshoot and resolve the issue if possible. If the issue can't be resolved during the diagnostic I'll provide a recommendation and estimate for additional servicing.

3) Machine Serviced

Most sewing machines that need servicing are returned in 7-14 days.

In order to provide this very quick turn-time a limited number of slots are available each week for service, so schedule an appointment as soon as possible! In Austin only.

Full-Service

If you want to proceed with full-service after the diagnostic, this includes:
Tune-up
Complete inspection of the machine, and a review of all major components to ensure they're functioning properly.
Oiling
Lube moving parts that require oiling to ensure they run smoothly, and the removal and replacement of old grease.
Cleaning
Removal of dust and debris that can prevent your machine from running efficiently or even lead to major problems later.
Minor Repairs
Adjustment of major components to make sure they're functioning as they should, filing out nicks, replacing worn out springs or screws, and other minor fixes.

Types of Machines Serviced

We service just about any domestic sewing machine and serger, vintage and new.

Singer, Bernina, Janome, Kenmore, Brother, Juki, Pfaff, Husqvarna, White, Baby Lock and more. If you have a digital sewing machine, these can also be serviced to tune up, clean or replace mechanical parts as needed, however, if the issue you're experiencing is related to the digital or electrical components, then you will need to have your machine serviced by the manufacturer or a local dealer.

Machines in Desks & Industrial Machines
If your sewing machine is in a desk and you can't remove it to bring it in for the diagnostic, or it's an industrial machine, these can't be serviced using the processes outlined below. Don't schedule a diagnostic appointment, and instead contact me with questions or the issue you're experiencing, and I may be able to refer you to a specialist or make other arrangements.
