See the story on these simple clothing alterations to give new life and style to thrift store finds.

Late last year, Magdalena Antuña, who is the founder and editor-in-chief of Selva Beat,  reached out to us to help with a special project. Selva Beat is a magazine that focuses on the environmental aspects of beauty, fashion, culture, food, sex, and love.

She was looking for someone who could alter and re-style garments she had found at a thrift store. The goal was to demonstrate that it’s actually possible to extend the life of clothing, and not succumb to the pressures of fast-fashion. This turned out to be the perfect match because we are big supporters of sustainable fashion and earth-friendly lifestyles, and try to integrate these practices into what we do at Ronkita Design. Magdalena also has a passion for sharing information and alternatives to products and practices that negatively impact the environment, plus we share some of the same thoughts on style. 😉

Below are just a few examples of the finished pieces. Check out the full article to see where they started from, the inspiration for the alterations, and the final transformations.
