Materials to Bring

When starting a new endeavor for the first time, even selecting basic supplies can be overwhelming, let alone a sewing machine, so a sewing machine and tools are provided for all sessions, as well as fabric for the first project (throw pillow cover). This way you can get to use them, and understand different features and uses, before going out and buying your own. If you already have a sewing machine and sewing tools, feel free to use those.

Here is the complete list of everything you'll need to bring for each session:

Session / Project 1 - Throw Pillow Cover

  • 16x16 pillow form/insert

Session / Project 2 - Farmers Market Tote Bag

  • All fabric should be quilting cotton
  • 1 yard of fabric for the outside of the bag
  • 1 yard of fabric for the inside of the bag
  • 1 1/2 yards of decor bond (Pellon 809)
  • Thread

Session / Project 3 - Skirt or Pajama Shorts/Pants

  • Flannel or quilting cotton - see the table below to determine your size and amount of fabric to bring
  • 1/2" or 3/4" elastic - see the table below to determine your size and amount of elastic to bring
  • Thread

IMPORTANT: Please email me with the size you are making no later than 48 hours before the day of the session so I can have your pattern ready to go. The pattern can be adjusted if necessary during the session to get a perfect fit. If you don't send your size then a general size will be provided for you to learn the process.

Size Hip Elastic Fabric (Shorts) Fabric (Pants)
XXS 34" 1 yard 1 1/2 yards 2 yards
XS 36" 1 yard 1 1/2 yards 2 yards
