Wine Gift Bag

Add your unique touch when giving a gift of wine with a custom bag

In this workshop you'll how to use a sewing machine to create your very own wine bag. It's machine washable and a great way to personalize a gift of wine with your unique style. All materials are provided, and you'll leave with your custom-made wine bag and the skills to make more.

A selection of fabric will be provided for you to choose from to make the wine bag. If you want to use your own fabric, you'll need to bring 1 fat quarter (18" x 22") of cotton fabric for the outside of the bag, and another fat quarter (18" x 22") for the inside/lining. Contact Vanessa with any questions or if you want tips on where to get unique fabric. A sewing machine will be provided, or you can bring yours if you have one that you use.

About the Instructor

Vanessa has a long history of teaching, and was an instructor at the Stitch Lab where she taught intro and specialty sewing classes, gave private lessons, hosted parties, and ran summer camps. In addition to sewing, she has also taught art, English and grammar to children as young as two all the way through high school-aged kids. Her teaching experience extends overseas as well when Vanessa was in the Peace Corps and she taught grades 1-12, and ran clubs and summer camps. Vanessa has taught adults and kids of all ages, and especially likes seeing how everyone applies their newfound sewing skills to express themselves.

Vanessa is also a machine service technician and likes to share helpful tips with her students on the operation and maintenance of their machines.
