Get in-person sewing instruction when and where you want to learn to sew

Private Sewing Classes

Want to take a sewing class but can't find one that fits your busy schedule? Our classes can be organized for a time and place that works best for you.

What makes these different from other classes is these can be scheduled on YOUR time and at a location that's convenient for YOU.

We receive a lot of requests from people who want to learn how to make the projects in our classes, but the time or place doesn't work for everyone. Now you can select from the wide range of available classes and schedule them at a time and place that's best for you. Learn to make clothing, accessories, and decor. New classes are added regularly so you can continue to build your sewing skills and learn to make something great.

If a class you want to take isn't currently scheduled, or available at a time or place that's convenient for you, then you can request it as a private class. For 1 person, or get even better rates for groups of 2 or more!

How It Works

Arrange a private sewing class in 3 easy steps.

1) Assemble Your Group

For groups up to a max of 5 people per class.

For adults or kids, get friends, family, or siblings together who want to learn to sew. The more people in your group, the more you save.

2) Select the Project

Decide on the project you want to make.

After you have your group together, review the available classes to determine what project you want to make. Please be sure to review the materials and any other requirements for the project you select.

3) Schedule the Class

Contact us to setup the class.

Let us know which project, how many people, and your preferences for date, time, and location. We'll then coordinate with you on scheduling the class.

The private sewing classes can be taught just about anywhere to make them as convenient as possible.

About the Instructor

Vanessa has 18+ years of experience teaching adults and children. She was an instructor at the Stitch Lab where she taught intro and specialty sewing classes, gave private lessons, hosted parties, and ran summer camps. In addition to sewing, she has also taught art, English and grammar to children as young as two all the way through high school-aged kids. Her teaching experience extends overseas as well when Vanessa was in the Peace Corps and she taught grades 1-12, and ran clubs and summer camps. Vanessa has taught adults and kids of all ages, and especially likes seeing how everyone applies their newfound sewing skills to express themselves.

Vanessa is a full-time seamstress, working with clients on a wide variety of custom projects and production, that helps to keep her current with the latest sewing trends and technologies. She is also a machine service technician and has expert knowledge on a wide range of sewing machines. This experience is shared with her students by showing them how to properly use and maintain their sewing machine.
