Juniper Cardigan by Jennifer Lauren Handmade Review

Recently I was given the opportunity to make and review a pattern for Jennifer Lauren Handmade.

The pattern is the Juniper Cardigan, and I love it! If you know me, then you will know that I have many cardis in my closet. Cardigans are essential for someone like me that gets cold even in the Texas summers so I was very excited when I was chosen to test this pattern.

There are a couple of options to choose from, but I chose to make the shorty version just because it’s different than what I normally wear.  I usually opt for the standard longer length, but thought I would try something new. After trying the shorty, I found out that I don’t much care for the short version on myself.  I have a large bust and broad shoulders and this version accentuated these features too much.  Regardless, I will definitely make this again in the longer version with some minor adjustments that I will mention below. The piece itself is really cute, and I definitely will be wearing it with the right outfit. For the test piece I used the Foklorico Gotas de Amor fabric from Alexander Henry with a solid hot pink as an accent color.

A couple of notes about the pattern in general are that the arms were too large for me,  so next time I make this,  I’ll scale down the arms a couple of sizes. The instructions were super easy to understand and I had no issues with construction.  Personally I think someone that has already sewn with knit material and made something from a commercial pattern could do this without any problems. I really loved this one and can’t wait to make more with my adjustments.  Easy to read instructions,  easy to print and put together.

Check out all of the patterns at Jennifer Lauren Handmade, I promise you won’t be disappointed! Maybe you can be a reviewer, too!
